In New York, the off-Broadway revival of Heathers the Musical has become a phenomenon, smashing records at New World Stages—the same venue that hosted the show's original 2014 run.

The story takes place in the 1980s at Westerboro High School, where the popular and ruthless clique, "The Heathers," rule the social hierarchy. Heather Chandler (Heather 1), Heather Duke (Heather 2), and Heather McNamara (Heather 3) are the trio of popular girls who dictate the school's social scene. When new student Veronica Sawyer joins the school, she becomes embroiled in the Heathers' world and, through a series of events, becomes complicit in their mean-spirited pranks and bullying.

The musical premiered with a sold-out Los Angeles tryout in 2013 before transferring off-Broadway to New World Stages in 2014. In 2018, a revised version opened in London's West End, featuring new songs and script changes that have since become standard. The musical went on to win at the WhatsOnStage Awards in 2019 and has since played three West End runs and three UK and Ireland tours.
