Weaknesses
The massive digital and theatrical footprint of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle proved that audiences were hungry for high-concept adventure comedies. It successfully paved the way for a direct 2019 sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level , and solidified the franchise as a modern pillar of blockbuster cinema.
The “outside” world – Brantford High School – is actually in Atlanta, Georgia. The school’s exterior was used for the detention scenes, while the game’s lush jungles, caverns, and ruins were built at Atlanta Metro Studios in Union City, Georgia.
Their mission: return a stolen jewel called the "Jaguar’s Eye" to a giant jaguar statue, break a curse, and escape the game. The villain is (Bobby Cannavale), a former archaeologist who seeks the jewel for himself.
Four high schoolers—the nerdy Spencer, the athlete Fridge, the popular Bethany, and the shy Martha—are sent to detention and discover the game. After selecting characters, they are sucked into the jungle world of Jumanji.
