: The story follows Norbit Albert Rice, an orphan who was forced into a marriage with the boisterous and abusive Rasputia. His life takes a turn when his childhood sweetheart, Kate Thomas (played by Thandiwe Newton), returns to town to buy the orphanage they grew up in. Norbit must find the courage to stand up to Rasputia and her three intimidating brothers—Jack, Earl, and Blue—to win Kate back.
